On Snow Demo. Top 3.
Every snowboard company under the sun wants you to ride their wood. They come out with some of the most outlandish terms available to describe their technology just to convince you they are on top. Well this snow slayer spent 8 solid hours going through rigorous testing to deliver you his top 3 snow swords of this 2010/2011 season. Here they go!

Never Summer SL
What can I say about Never Summer that an infinite number of Coloradans haven’t already said? Well, their Rocker & Camber delivers on all fronts. Providing superb edge to edge transfers, twin shape (perfect for those little roller 180s and 360s we all love), and fantastic pop, it’s a wonderboard for everywhere around the mountain. Tail tapping a tree? Sure. Slashing a pow turn into your buddys face? All to easily. Laying down that 270 nosepress? Yup yup and yup. This board has everything an all over rider would need and the greatest part? It’s a Colorado company. Warranty Issue? Call up their factory and drive down to drop it off just outside downtown Denver. Great, fantastic superb. Do it.

Ride DH 2.5
Oh man. Responsiveness, low swing weight, fantastic edge control even in some scraped conditions. The feel of this board underfoot was astounding. Quick when it wants to be, pop loaded for those butters and ollie spots, edge control like a scroll saw under the hand of a master wood craftsman. If you enjoy more park than anywhere else but don’t want to miss out on the occasional pow day in the back bowls this board is going to treat you like a good secretary, total service.
Drumroll please…

Burton Sweet Talker.
This board is a valkyrie. All I can say is WoW. If you get the opportunity to catch a Burton demo day, do yourself a favor, ask for this in a size down from what you would normally ride with a pair of Burton’s Restricted Mala Vita EST bindings and you will be as pleased as a viking on the field of battle. It slays. Even at a smaller size this board has all the control of a board 4-8 CM longer and because you can ride it down you can swing it around that much more easily. Imagine being that 6’6” bearded guy in Conan swinging a battle axe with ease. This is that battle axe, and even better? It turns you into that bearded dude that could take on 2 dinosaurs at once. Burton is leading the pack in Rocker/Camber combos with their Flying V set up. Putting the camber directly under the feet and throwing Frostbite edges on it means you’ve got all the edge control you will ever need and the rocker sections make sure your jibs and corked 1080s are clean like a master sous chief kitchen (on a day off). This board is a katana in the hands of a master samurai, not for the novice. Spoon scooped nose and tail ends make sure you’re floating on that pow. Dead Serious. Get one. Only available at rad shops (a total of 8 in CO if I recall correctly). Stop by BC Surf and Sport Flatirons and touch it for yourself, just be careful not to get dominated.
